Helm contains the attack in your data, while Symantec isolates the devices behind it.
Talk to usHelm watches your files and acts on the rules you set. When it detects ransomware, it can have Symantec Endpoint Security by Broadcom quarantine the devices involved, so the attack is contained in your data and on the device.
Encryption is the moment ransomware turns into damage. Helm watches for that moment where your data lives, on file shares, servers and Microsoft 365. It detects encryption in under a second and contains the attack on rules your team can read and check.
Symantec Endpoint Security, part of Broadcom, protects laptops, servers and mobile devices with a single agent, managed on-premises, in the cloud or as a hybrid, with EDR built in. One of its actions is quarantining a device, which blocks its network access except to the Symantec cloud console. Helm sees the encryption. Symantec acts on the device.
When Helm contains an attack, it can find the devices involved in Symantec Endpoint Security and send Symantec’s contain command through its cloud API. Each device is quarantined from the network but stays reachable from the Symantec console, so your team can investigate it safely. Every action is recorded in the Helm incident.
If you run Carbon Black Cloud, also part of Broadcom, Helm can quarantine devices there in the same way.
Helm adds the data layer and acts on the rules you set, while Symantec carries out the quarantine on each device. If parts of your estate run other protection, see how Helm works with Microsoft Defender and Trellix.
